Setting Up Menus
Tabule Theme registers two menu locations: the main navigation menu and a footer legal menu. Setting them up takes just a few steps.
Create a menu
- Go to Appearance → Menus.
- Click Create a new menu, give it a name (e.g., "Main Navigation"), and click Create Menu.
- On the left panel, add items from Pages, Posts, Custom Links, or Categories by clicking Add to Menu.
- Drag items to rearrange them. Drag an item slightly to the right beneath another item to make it a sub-item (dropdown).
- Under Menu Settings → Display location, check Main Menu.
- Click Save Menu.
Menu locations
- Main Menu — displayed in the site header. Supports up to three levels of nesting (see Multi-level Menus).
- Footer Menu — a simple flat list displayed in the site footer, typically used for legal pages (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, etc.).
Custom links
To add a link that is not a WordPress page or post, use the Custom Links panel on the left. Enter any URL and a label. This is useful for external links, anchor links (#section), or links to WooCommerce pages like the shop or checkout.
Menu item labels
You can rename any menu item by clicking the arrow next to it to expand its options and editing the Navigation Label field. The original page title is not changed.
Assigning menus in the Customizer
You can also assign menus at Appearance → Customize → Menus. This gives a live preview of how the menu looks before you save.
